Each rug is knotted by hand, one row at a time, by women artisans in Afghanistan, Armenia, India, and Tibet. We work with them directly — no intermediaries, fair compensation, the social mission held as the work itself.
A piece takes shape over months at the loom. Every knot is tied and trimmed by hand until the pattern settles into a surface that is dense, quiet, and made to outlast its first room.
- 01 Design Each pattern is mapped to a knot-by-knot cartoon — the blueprint the weavers follow thread for thread.
- 02 Dye Wool and silk are dyed in small batches to our palette, so colour carries depth rather than flat uniformity.
- 03 Knot Artisans tie every knot by hand, then shear, wash, and finish the rug until the surface runs true.

The preview is colour-managed against our yarn library, and you receive a photograph from the loom midway through weaving. Owners tell us the rug reads like the render — then better in real light.
Yes — colours, size and shape can change until your yarn is dyed, usually within the first ten days. After that your maker has begun, and the design is yours as confirmed.
Really. The price is simply your area multiplied by the material rate per square foot. A 170 × 240 costs the same per square foot as a 300 × 400.
Vacuum gently without a beater bar, rotate twice a year, and blot spills straight away. Hand-knotted wool forgives decades of use — our care guide ships with every rug.
For every commission we send yarn samples and a room preview first, so the answer is almost always “it suits”.
