The 150% Rule
When you apply a Repurchase credit toward a new commission valued at 150% or more of your original purchase price, we add a 5% bonus credit to your total. This incentive recognises customers who are genuinely upgrading their collection and allows us to sustain the programme long term. The bonus is applied automatically at checkout and does not stack with other promotional credits.
Circular craft
What happens to your returned rug
- Excellent / Very good: Listed in our Atelier Archive collection at accessible price points for new customers.
- Good: Professionally restored by our weavers, then listed in the Archive or donated to partner cultural institutions.
- Restoration needed: Fully disassembled. Salvageable pile yarn is recarded and woven into new commissions. Nothing goes to landfill.
Questions
Frequently asked
Is the online estimate binding?
No. The online estimate is indicative only, based on your self-reported condition rating. Final credit is determined by our atelier team after physical inspection and confirmed in writing within 5 business days of receipt.
Do I need the original invoice?
An invoice upload is requested but not strictly mandatory. If you are a registered customer, we can locate your order directly. Guest submissions without documentation will be assessed solely on condition, using our current price list as a reference baseline.
Who covers the shipping cost?
We arrange and fully cover the return courier within Switzerland, Germany, Austria, and France. For other countries, a flat logistics fee of CHF 120 is deducted from the final credit.
Can I cancel after submitting?
Yes. You may cancel at any point before the rug is picked up by the courier by contacting hello@carpetartisan.com with your reference number. Once collected, cancellation is not possible.
Does the credit expire?
Store credit issued through the Repurchase Programme is valid for 36 months from the date of issuance. Credit cannot be redeemed for cash and is non-transferable.
Can I trade in a rug I bought elsewhere?
No. This programme applies exclusively to original CarpetArtisan commissions. We cannot value or repurchase rugs from other manufacturers, as we cannot verify construction standards or material provenance.
Can I use the credit on a bespoke commission?
Yes. Repurchase credits are valid on all CarpetArtisan products including fully bespoke commissions, Atelier Archive pieces, and standard catalogue items.
What if I disagree with the final assessment?
If you do not accept the final credit figure, we return the rug to you at no charge and the transaction is voided. We will provide a written assessment report explaining the condition findings.
How long does the full process take?
From submission to credit issuance: typically 10-14 business days. Courier pick-up is arranged within 3 business days of your submission confirmation. Assessment takes up to 5 business days after receipt.
Can I submit multiple rugs at once?
Yes. Submit a separate request for each rug via the PDP accordion on any product page. Each receives its own credit reference number and is assessed independently. Credits can be combined at checkout.
